Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a large bowl, whisk together the orange juice, olive oil, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined. (2 minutes)

02

Step
30 mins

Place the tuna steaks in the bowl, ensuring both sides are thoroughly coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow the flavors to penetrate the fish. (30 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and gently shake off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade. (1 minute)

05

Step
10 mins

Place the tuna steaks onto the preheated grill and cook to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, cook for approximately 5 minutes per inch of thickness. For medium-well, cook for about 10 minutes per inch. (5-10 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, add a teaspoon of grated orange zest to the marinade.
When grilling tuna, it's essential not to overcook it. Tuna is best served medium-rare to medium for optimal tenderness and flavor.
If you don't have an outdoor grill, you can also broil the tuna in the oven. Preheat the broiler and place the tuna steaks on a baking sheet lined with foil. Broil for 5-7 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
To make mango salsa, dice one ripe mango, half a red onion, one red bell pepper, and a jalapeño pepper (remove seeds for less heat). Mix with chopped cilantro, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
