Follow The Directions

01

Step
9 mins

In a large skillet, combine the ground turkey, onion, bell pepper, and apple. Cook over medium heat, breaking up the turkey with a spoon, until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are softened, about 7-9 minutes.

02

Step
10 mins

Stir in the ketchup, water, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, sugar, tarragon, salt, and cloves. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly, adding more water if needed to reach your desired consistency.

For a richer flavor, try using dark meat ground turkey.
Fresh tarragon is best, but dried tarragon can be substituted. Use 1 teaspoon of dried tarragon in place of the fresh.
Adjust the amount of cloves to your preference. A little goes a long way!
Toasted brioche buns make a great complement to the rich flavor of sloppy joe.
