Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (232 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place squash halves cut-side down on a cutting board. Cut into uniform 3/8-inch thick slices, ensuring even cooking. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Transfer the sliced squash to a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and cayenne pepper. Toss gently but thoroughly to coat each slice evenly. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Arrange the squash slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they aren't overcrowded. This will promote even browning and prevent steaming. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the bottoms are deeply browned and the squash is tender and easily pierced with a fork, 12 to 18 minutes. (18 minutes)

For enhanced flavor, try adding a drizzle of maple syrup or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese during the last few minutes of roasting.
Delicata squash skin is edible, so there is no need to peel it.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
