For a richer flavor, use salted butter and omit the garlic salt. Fresh herbs, such as rosemary or thyme, can be used in place of dried herbs. Double the amount when using fresh herbs. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat. For best results, use a good quality Parmesan cheese.
