For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the broccoli before roasting.
If you don't have lemon zest on hand, you can use a few drops of lemon extract.
To prevent the broccoli from steaming instead of roasting, make sure the florets are spread in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, such as Pecorino Romano or Asiago.
