For a thicker dressing, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Adjust the amount of garlic powder and onion powder to suit your taste. Fresh herbs can be substituted for dried herbs; use 1 teaspoon of fresh herbs for every 1/2 teaspoon of dried herbs. Add a squeeze of lemon juice for extra tang.
