For a richer flavor, consider using andouille sausage in addition to, or in place of, some of the ground beef. Don't overcook the shrimp! They should be just pink and opaque. Feel free to experiment with different types of bell peppers. Red, yellow, and orange bell peppers will add a touch of sweetness to the dish.
