For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender after simmering. Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your preference. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if needed. Fresh herbs can be substituted for dried herbs. Use 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs for every teaspoon of dried herbs. This sauce can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before using.
