Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare your mise en place: Gather all ingredients and have them ready to assemble. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Preheat a large frying pan or griddle over medium heat. The pan should be hot enough to lightly brown the tortilla but not so hot that it burns. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Place one tortilla flat onto the preheated pan. Cook for approximately 1 minute, or until the bottom begins to lightly turn golden brown. (1 minute)

04

Step

Flip the tortilla over. Quickly sprinkle about 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the surface, followed by a scattering of sliced black olives and avocado. Drizzle with a touch of hot pepper sauce. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Carefully place another tortilla on top to create a quesadilla sandwich. Cover the pan with a lid to help the cheese melt evenly. (1 minute)

06

Step

Cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is beginning to melt. Flip the quesadilla and cook for another 1-2 minutes, uncovered, until the cheese is completely melted and gooey, and both sides of the quesadilla are golden brown and crispy. (4 minutes)

07

Step

Carefully transfer the cooked quesadilla to a cutting board. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to create more quesadillas. (Time varies based on the number of quesadillas)

08

Step

Once slightly cooled, cut each quesadilla into wedges or triangles. Serve immediately.

For extra flavor, consider adding other fillings such as cooked chicken, shredded pork, or sautéed vegetables.
A squeeze of fresh lime juice over the avocado will prevent browning and add a bright, citrusy note.
Serve with your favorite toppings like sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or a zesty cilantro-lime crema.
For a crispier tortilla, lightly brush the outside with oil or cooking spray before cooking.
Feel free to substitute different types of cheese, such as cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend.
