Follow The Directions

01

Step

Marinate the Steak: In a large resealable plastic bag, combine lime juice, oil, chili powder, salt, and cayenne pepper. Add the flank steak, ensuring it's well-coated in the marinade. Remove excess air, seal, and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes. (30-60 minutes)

02

Step

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). (5 minutes)

03

Step

Prepare Steak Packet: Remove steak from the marinade (discard the used marinade). Place the steak in the center of a (12x18-inch) sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Lift foil sides and double fold top and ends to seal, leaving space inside for heat circulation.

04

Step

Prepare Vegetable Packet: Place sliced peppers, onion, and minced garlic in the center of a separate (12x18-inch) sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Repeat the folding process to create a sealed packet.

05

Step

Wrap Tortillas: Tightly wrap the flour tortillas in another sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil.

06

Step

Bake: Place both the steak and vegetable foil packets in the preheated oven. Bake until the steak reaches your desired doneness (145 degrees F (63 degrees C) for medium-rare) and the vegetables are tender, approximately 30-35 minutes. Add the wrapped tortillas to the oven during the last 10 minutes of baking to warm them through. (35-45 minutes)

07

Step

Open Packets: Carefully cut along the top fold of each packet with a sharp knife to release the steam. Thinly slice the steak against the grain.

08

Step

Assemble Fajitas: Fill the warm tortillas with the sliced steak and tender vegetables. Top with your favorite accompaniments like guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. Serve immediately and enjoy!

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a dash of smoked paprika to the steak marinade.
To ensure even cooking, make sure the foil packets are well-sealed to trap the steam.
If you prefer a smokier flavor, you can grill the foil packets instead of baking them in the oven. Be sure to monitor closely to prevent burning.
