Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce until the sugar is completely dissolved. This creates the tangy-sweet base for your salad dressing. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, thinly sliced green onions, toasted almonds, sunflower seed kernels, and raisins. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the cabbage to soften slightly. (1 hour minimum)

For an extra layer of flavor, try toasting the almonds and sunflower seeds yourself. Simply spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden and fragrant.
Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to your liking. If you prefer a less sweet salad, start with 2 tablespoons and add more to taste.
This salad keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, making it perfect for meal prepping or leftovers.
Consider adding other vegetables like shredded carrots or bell peppers for extra color and nutrients.
