Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set aside. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Gently add the frozen udon blocks. Allow them to sit in the boiling water until they begin to unravel, approximately 1-2 minutes. Ensure the noodles remain slightly chewy for optimal texture. Drain the noodles thoroughly, then return them to the pot. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Pour the prepared sauce over the drained udon noodles. Stir continuously until the noodles are evenly coated in the luscious sauce. Transfer the noodles to a serving dish, garnish generously with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy! (3 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try browning the garlic in a bit of oil before adding the other sauce ingredients.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your desired spice level. A pinch of sugar can also balance the flavors.
If you don't have frozen udon, fresh or dried udon noodles can be used, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
Consider adding a protein like tofu, chicken, or shrimp for a more substantial meal.
