Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Position an oven rack in the center and place a wire rack on top of a baking sheet. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and cayenne pepper until well combined. (2 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate shallow bowl, combine the crushed nacho cheese-flavored chips, bread crumbs, and a generous pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Mix well. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Then, transfer the chicken to the chip mixture, pressing firmly to cover both sides completely with the chip mixture. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Place the coated chicken breasts on the wire rack. (1 minute)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear when pierced with a fork, about 25 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). (25 minutes)

07

Step

Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. (5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the chip mixture.
If you prefer a moister chicken, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes before coating.
These chicken breasts are also delicious pan-fried! Simply heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
