Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Heat oil in a heavy skillet to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Sift flour, baking powder, powdered milk, and salt together into a large bowl. Pour water over flour mixture; stir until a sticky dough forms. Form dough into a ball using floured hands. (5 minutes)

03

Step
10 mins

Shape dough into 4 even-sized balls; flatten into 1/2-inch-thick patties, and make a small hole in the center of each patty. (10 minutes)

04

Step
11 mins

Fry dough in hot oil until golden, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. (10-12 minutes)

For a sweeter treat, drizzle with honey, jam, or powdered sugar immediately after frying.
If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
Ensure the oil is hot enough for optimal crispness. A candy thermometer is helpful for this.
