For an extra layer of flavor, try using dark chocolate chips or adding a pinch of espresso powder to the cream mixture. Be very careful when broiling! The sugar can burn quickly. Keep a close eye on the crème brûlées and remove them from the oven as soon as the tops are caramelized. If you don't have a broiler, you can use a kitchen torch to brûlée the tops.
