For a richer flavor, brown the ground beef with a tablespoon of olive oil and a clove of minced garlic. Feel free to substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for the ground beef. Fresh basil can be used instead of parsley. Ensure the lasagna noodles are well-covered with sauce to prevent them from drying out during baking. If the top of the lasagna starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil.
