Follow The Directions

01

Step
7 mins

In a Dutch oven or large pot, heat over medium-high heat. Add sausage, onion, and celery; cook until sausage is browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes, breaking up the sausage with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.

02

Step
10 mins

Add diced red potatoes, chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

03

Step
10 mins

Stir in whole kernel corn, cream-style corn, evaporated milk, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes, or until heated through and flavors have melded.

For a smoother chowder, use an immersion blender to partially blend the soup before adding the corn and evaporated milk.
Feel free to add other vegetables like diced bell peppers or carrots for added flavor and texture.
If you prefer a thicker chowder, you can whisk together 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the soup during the last few minutes of cooking.
Serve with a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh chives for a beautiful and flavorful garnish.
