Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Season the pork chops generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Pan-fry the pork chops in the skillet until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer the browned pork chops to the prepared baking dish, and scatter the minced onion evenly over the top. (20 minutes)

03

Step

Pour water or chicken broth into the skillet, and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Use a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet, incorporating them into the liquid. Pour this flavorful mixture over the pork chops in the baking dish. Spread the cream-style corn evenly over the pork chops, ensuring they are nicely coated. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Bake the pork chops in the preheated oven until they are tender and cooked through, approximately 45 minutes. The internal temperature of the pork chops should reach 145 degrees F (63 degrees C) when measured with an instant-read meat thermometer. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. (50 minutes)

For added depth of flavor, consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the pork chop seasoning.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water and stir it into the skillet while deglazing. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly before pouring over the pork chops.
Bone-in pork chops tend to be more flavorful and remain juicier during baking.
Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the delicious corn sauce.
Optional: You can broil for the last 2-3 minutes to give the pork chops and corn a golden top layer.
